I had a mindset that i needed a bunch of keys of harps to play along with tunes off of YouTube. PT and Adam, specifically, and after I did The Thumb (played on a valved C harp, which is the only one I have), I came across PT's Midnight in Amarillo. Im pretty sure it's played on a valved G harp in his video, and on the CD. I opened the file up in Audacity and changed the pitch to the harp I had. Granted it doesnt sound the same, but it serves the purpose. Money is tight, and i just want to learn it, key be damned...

My point is, if you dont have the right key just yet... change it to what you do have and continue to jam on, baby!

Poor man's way of getting around $ things, eh?

Kyzer- I've done that once or twice. It's also why I recommend buying your first 6 harps skipping one step on the circle of fifths from each other. You can play everything in first or second position.

Audacity is also a nice way to get a bass harp recording without actually owning a bass harp. I've got a recording of 'When the Saints Go Marching In' my friend and I recorded that just for fun I tuned down an octave. It sounds awesome! And instead of costing me $100 bucks for a low tuned harp it was free.

Adam, this song is in the Key of C and I used a low F harmonica....I have just posted an updated website that now has key sheets for all three of my CDs. Go to the tab that says Recordings and then click on Physical CDs for each CD and you will see the key sheets and samples.

Thanks for the info. Its another tune of yours that i think i can get down. (it isnt so damned fast) I didnt try to play along when i first heard it, and changed it immediately when i opened it up to change the key. Your key guide will come in handy in the weeks and months ahead. Ive got Back to Back, and Im getting your other two CD's when i get back from hill country...
