just saw adam playing superstition on the lassey lick of the week thread. it's a really cool and fun non blues song to play.
well, it got me thinking of my fav non blues songs i love to play so here are some off the top of my head.

jimi hendrix -third stone from the sun.

gabor zabo- gypsy queen(either or both of these first two are great detours if you start with 'who do you love?')...or not.

maceo parker-the chicken. (TOTAL GAS!!)

joe zawinul/cannon ball adderly-mercy,mercy,mercy.

anyway...anyone else have any favorite no harp non blues numbers they like to work out on?

I've been working on "Chameleon",but I have a way to go yet.Tried it once with a sax player at an open stage but I duffed it. Part of it was that I couldn't hear myself,the rest was all me. Funny,I had it down while playing at home.
