Ok Went to a Jam Friday night in Hagerstown MD get there hook up my one Bogen amp and nothing, everything lights up no sound. check all cords batteries ect. nothing, play the night thru the vocal mic. Get the amp home Sat Morning find I have a pre amp tube with a bad post replace tube, works fine. Go to Sunday Jam in Falls Church VA. Nice people and a Soundman!! big plus, most jams here have none, Play my set pull the amp off stage and set it on cab next to me. Was asked to play with someone in another set. A gentleman was there with his son, special needs and has a motor skill issue. swings around to sit and yep knocks the Bogen to the ground top first. Complete accident. As I pick it up I hear a glass sound rolling around inside. Tore it apart this Morning and a power tube popped out of the socket without cracking, plugged it back in, amp works perfectly. Now my question to y'all was it a lucky or unlucky weekend? ----------

Very lucky, but scary, especially when the Bogen did a faceplant...ouch. I would have freaked, and hopefully not said anything to hurt the kid and/or his dad! I know it's an accident, but in the spur of the moment our words don't have the benefit of hindsight. ----------

I was at an open mic once. The hosts had been having problems with the bolt at the bottom of one of their speakers where it meets the stand. The host was playing a set and he stepped on the wire and suddenly the bolt snapped and the speaker dropped, impaling the speakers innards. Lucky or unlucky? It was unlucky for the the hosts, but it sure was lucky for the people who got to watch their faces. :)
Glad it worked out better for you. ---------- Nate Facebook

Todd I was fairly proud of myself for saying very calmly, "no worries whatever is done can be fixed Accidents happen" While inside the obscenities were bursting to come forth! ----------

Tubes fail all the time for a variety of reasons. I wouldn't have sweated this incident. It was an accident and accidents happen all the time. Overall, it wasn't a bad situation as no one got hurt.

Hey Bluzdude,
Hagerstown?, Falls Chirch?
I'm just a beginner---not quite jam-ready---in Greenbelt, MD. Where do you hear about "local" jams?

Aside from the nearly broken equipment sounds like a great weekend! I think you got some good luck that your Bogen didn't crash and burn! Wish some of my weekends were half as interesting.
I'm falling so far behind on what's happening on these forums...
