Hmmm...evidently a post was deleted or something...I've been a helicopter pilot for about 20 years if someone has a question.

I have 2200 hours in the B-52 as a navigator and radar navigator/bombadier. I was a flight examiner for a few years and helped develop the B2 pilot training academic curriculum.

In Nav school, we had to practice unusual attitude recoveries where you aren't permitted to look while the instructor pilot eases into a situation. When You come up and look at the instruments to figure it out, you do the recovery.

Those and flying upside down in an immelman or loop or aileron roll were my favorite things to do during unusual attitude phase.

No, not a pilot, because my wife didn't want me flying small craft after the AF..but an aviator at heart.

When I was learning to fly, I'd be through flyin' around, get in my car and head home. Once back in the car, it was kinda hard to remember ya gotta slow down fer turns. :D

I've been flying for 15 years and teaching it for 10. About ready to hang it up---getting old. Really enjoyed it, though.

Interesting how a spammer can inadvertently start an OT thread.

Twenty five years ago I flew ultralight aircraft. I owned a Quicksilver MXL. Nothing like hanging in midair waiting for a gust of wind to take control of the aircraft! I'd spend hours putting the thing together only to wait more hours for the right conditions.

On good days you could cut the engine and ride the thermals, do spiraling nose dives or drop below stall speed and flutter down like a leaf.
