I just got my first Crossover. Shipped from coast to coast from Rockin Rons in a couple of days !!
Out of the box it plays great....all reeds are fine..OB's better than any OTB harp I've ever had. Not as tight as my "DudeHarps" but $25.00 cheaper as well. Very responsive.
On the downside...I can spend $30.00 less...invest some time and have a harp that is just as good. ---------- Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. Have you tried a HarpMaster or something? I'd like to know how those compare.

PHARPO,i like the crossovers. i switched combs with a MBD i customized and the deluxe plates work slghtly better with either comb. i A-Bd the crossovers with 1896s i customized and they're about equal. i think the comb material gives a little edgyness to the crossover. it's a really great harp and still cheaper than a custom harp. like you though, i'd rather spend some time at the work bench. by the way, i tried a MANJI and my 1896s are actually louder( the adds push how loud the MANJI is), but the MANJI is a great harp too.

My only (slight) gripe with the Crossover is the tuning. But they do play great. I play out with my band just about every weekend and so far these do everything I need them to. I compare them pretty favorably with the Brad Harrison custom Marine bands that I also play. The Harrisons are of course incredible, and the tuning (chords) are to die for. BUT, the Crossover is outstanding. I wish they'd offer the MBD plates in them as a no cost option. THAT would be winner, winner chicken dinner for me! :^) Hohner...can you hear me? -Bob

And BTW, Rockin' Ron's offers some crazy good customer service. LOVE Rockin' Ron's! I noticed they had gotten limited stock in on Friday and I placed my order. Ron called minutes later to thank me. Today, (Monday) I have the Bb and G Crossovers that I ordered in my hand. And, consequently, in my mouth. -Bob

I'm just curious ... are they any different from a MB Deluxe apart from the non swelling comb? Do they play or sound differently or is it the same reed plates on a different comb and with a different engraving on the covers? ---------- If it ain't broke you just haven't fixed it enough ...
