Hello all, new to the forum and just been flicking through the archive passing an hour or so and then came across this by some guy claiming to be budha

''I don't subscribe to arrogance, or humility or whatever... I just am what I am and I operate within my reality and truth as I know it. I'm not a mean person and anyone who knows me personally will tell you that I would give the shirt off my back to help another person get to where they want to be. I carry myself as a part of nature and the cosmos rather than a part of society. As you travel the earth plane....................''

had a really good lung wrenching laugh but wondered who the heck would claim to be budha and then come out with this nonsense .. is it normal for this forum?

I can do without all that bullshit, too.

But you get the choice to ignore whatever you want. Ass-kissing is not a prerequisite to being here.

Q: What did the yogi say to the hotdog vendor?

A: Make me one with everything.

LOL Greg, that's a good one ! (Unfortunately it wouldn't work in French, so I won't be able to tell it to my pals).

heumann. here's the rest of the joke. the yogi gives the vendor a 20 and asks for change. the vendor replies,'change comes from within'.

YOGI. most times folks talk about harp related stuff and don't claim to be zoroaster, krishna, or anyone from the 3 main religeons of abraham. iv'e never heard michalek but i learned how to emboss harps from a youtube of his and i'm greatful to him. chances are if a person customizes, their harp playing is very top notch.

Buddha is undeniably correct when he wrote that he is what he is...

He is incredibly knowledgeable about the harmonica, and very willing to share that with anyone who wants to read/watch/listen. He’s extremely talented, as others have pointed out. I have also heard and read that he is a top notch teacher.

His talents and interests are also widely varied beyond the harmonica.

He is by no means humble.

He is also very opinionated, and he has admitted to “lacking a filter”.

He has stepped on toes and hurt some feelings of those that weren’t prepared for him.

But we’re all fortunate to have him here.

In the quest for perfect people, I have never found a single one. Anyone can learn from anyone if they really want to learn something the other has to offer. Personalities make little difference to a student on a quest for their own personal best.

and he claims that he is Buddha not because of any divine enlightenment, but because he is fat, his words.

the problem is figuring out which half of the time he is joking cause he does not ever seem to do this :-)

Yogi -I have learned that forum messages are a very difficult mode to judge someone correctly. Many of us have a sense of humor that is hard to read. Many things that may seem unkind or arrogant are said "tongue in cheek". I have never met Buddha. But I will share with you, that early on I judged him harshly as well. I do know that he is a very experienced player and customizer of harps. Welcome aboard.....there is a lot of good stuff here.

thanks for the links gene, checked him out. He may, to me , talk utter tosh but he certainly plays good.

Gloth, only in the sense that i s**+ in the woods when i go camping.

saregapadanisa, i aint no budha, i dont play that well and i watch what i eat a whole lot better.

budha, i am happier to live influenced by and of consequence to others.

harp content, what are the differences in using 3rd and 5th position to play minor keys? i prefer 5th but dont have reason why.

best wishes to all

Yogi,
"...what are the differences in using 3rd and 5th position to play minor keys?"
Start a thread with that question.

You ain't the only bear in the woods. There's another one named "Buddha." Watch out. He'll getcha!! :)

@yogi, you probably prefer 5th because it gives you a flat sixth without having to bend.
