there are several tool kits on the market including lee oscar, hohner, seydel, and customzier ones by r. sleigh etc. i use a combination of the first three above augumented by tools i fashioned. seydel has the best phillips, a nice file, gages, and a host of reed replacement tools i'd be lost without.. hohner has a good wrench(it fits most hohners and some other brands) and file and wind savers. lee oscar has a good plinker(if you file the end sharper for closely gapped reeds) a good wrench for oscars only, and the small chisel is good for lowering pitch if you don't use a file,a reed scaper, or a sanding wand.
anyone care to rate kits, or suggest the best all around kit- be it factory or a customizer kit- to help players make a choice on what to get?.

I bought the LO tool kit and was a little disappointed. Sure, there are a couple tools in there that you can't pick up just anywhere -- like the reed tool, and the files and scrapers. But, for $30+ I expected a little more. I suspect there are some do-it-your-selfers out there that can tell you where to find the equivalents. It may cost a little more dough, but you'll probably end up with only stuff you want and a little better quality.

I have 3 kits (which I guess is combined as one kit :P ). Most recommended to least recommended:
I agree with jon, put one together yourself. I got some help and plenty of fine tools on a kit I put together. Regardless of kit(s) you choose you will end up getting some personalized tools regardless.
Richard Sleighs kit/book both get a plus from me, money well spent. Really just about everything you need is here.
Lee oskar tool kit, easily accessible but altogether lame with next to no long term value. Some of what's included is only good for lee oskars, you could actually hurt your harmonicas thinking the screw driver, for instance, was the right size. The shim it comes with is too thick, imo, etc.
