Here's a Slow Blues i recorded today. Its heavily influenced by a Slow Blues Jason Ricci does in his
Root Note's 2 Video(its at 6:45). I learnt the bits i could then made up the rest.

Hope you like it.

This was really good, I like your tone. Plus, you hit that three draw bend quite well. It made my dog cry, too, so it must have been a good slow blues!!!

Well done. My dog loves to sing along with harp playing too. Tail wags away...totally a blues dog.

I like it. Did you work it up or just go with the moment? Nice either way.

Ant >.Very enjoyable. Some real fancy art work too. I'm not a complete domehead so I won't comment other than I'm rarely without a hat and feel naked without one.

Because of the fancy artwork I noticed something that has been bugging me ie not the art work but relates to the position of the elbows? I tend to hold my elbows tight close to the body ie I believe not relaxed enough. But when I try to open my arms up I'm not nearly as comfortable playing.

What is the general consensus of a relaxed style re position of the elbows? Any right or wrong way?

@Aussiesucker, i've been thinking about my elbow placement for a while now but for me its more to do with the Wah effect and whats the best placement of my arms to get a great wah. I dont think there is a right or wrong way to hold your elbows, but i'm more comfortable with my arms fairly close together.

I've been watching what other harp players are doing with their elbows then trying to find a happy medium.

I feel i can get a better projection with my wah with my elbows close together.

@Snakes i did work the rest of it a bit. I tried improvising when the camera was on but i kept messing it up then having to start again so i just simplified it.

Hi Ant138,

I enjoyed that.

Expressive, musical, lots of character, very solid technique, chord changes implied very well...

And I LOVE flat keys!

A thought: to my ear, most of the notes you played _without_ a strong "t" tongue articulation sounded MUCH better than the ones _with_ it...

@Hobo, i dont play with a band but i do jam with a guitar buddy now and again, were both too scared to sing so were kinda limited to what we can play but we have done a couple of open mic nights, theres not much call for the blues where i live.

thanks for all the great comments guys.

Ant-Great playing;that was enjoyable.
One suggestion:you should consider some ornamentation;your arms are just too bare! ;-)
