I wondered how many of you have an iphone or itouch. I've found some great harp related apps and wondered what else is out there...

Here's what I use (UK prices)

BHarmonica: Quite simple brilliant app. Relates a piano keyboard to any major diatonic (includes the OBs Ods) and can show just about any scale you want. Brilliant for £1.19

Prochords: Marketed as a songwriting tool, but it is great for throwing together a piano backing and trying out diferent chord changes. £3.49

Cleartune - chromatic: Very simple tuner, but unlike the peterson istrobosoft it can be set to different temperaments. £2.39

Circle Theory: Useful little circle of 5ths app. £2.99

PocketHarmony: Another circle of fifths based theory app. £1.19

SSW (simple songwriter): Like Prochords, but can record and playback your chord sequences. Doesn't have as many chords though. Free LE version available. £1.19

Drum Beats: Drum loop player loaded with 30 good beats. Free

RTA: Useful real time analyser for balancing a PA to a rooms acoustics. Free lite version available to try. £6.99

Xewton music studio: Absolutely amazing sequencer. Great for throwing together ideas on the move. If it could add recorded audio it would be perfect. £8.99

What Key?: Does what it says on the tin. Works out the tonal centre of the music for you. £1.19

All those virtual instruments are fun too. I love 'Mandolin', 'Pocket Guitar' and 'Grand Pro'. It's a Shame the 'Harmonica' app is so limited.

Anyone use any other iphone apps for harp/music?

Hey I have an iPhone and hadn't realized there were apps like these. Actually I got next to no apps on my phone yet, lol. I'll definitely take a look at these thanks for pointing them out.

Now all you need is a strobe tuner app that can be modified for any and all tunings and pitch standards.

Big question: is it only tuning by equal temperament by default and cannot be recalibrated to different pitch standards as well as for just intonation or only equal tuning as most guitar tuners are??? Don't be surprised if Peterson, the maker of strobe tuners has an app for it out soon.

I don't have an iPhone. What I'd really love is an app for my harmonica that would turn it into a cellphone.

The BHarmonica looks like it's easily worth the money but I'd be fearful of it giving me all the answers as opposed to learning something from it.

That strobe tuner looks pretty darn cool too and is only $10! I wonder if it handles octaves well.

I'm just about as addicted to my Iphone as I am to my harps. Some cool apps listed in this thread, I'll check them out.

My music apps--Amazing Slowdowner, Cleartune, Itick (cool free metronome), Soundhound (hum a tune or put it up to the radio and it tells you what the song is), GuitarForLife (guitar scales), Guitar (turns your phone into a guitar), Pocket Piano, Freedrumpad, Cowbell Plus (More Cowbell!), Chordmaster (guitar chord app), Wolfgangs' Vault, Pandora, Recorder (for hearing how awful I sound).

Ryan, my Dad bought that BHarmonica and it won't do that. It just helps you learn scales. If you utilize it correctly, I think it'd really help any player out. It's quite cool!
