Seydel! I love my LLF Blues Favorite. The other option, which I haven't really investigate fully but I'm interested in, is getting a pedal with a pitch shifter in it. Lower harps respond slower than regular harps. If you use electronics to shift it down the octave you don't lose the response speed. If you are interested in having more than one or two low harps it might be cheaper too. According to their site, Hohner's Marine Band only goes down to low D, although I didn't click through on all their other harps. Suzuki only has a high G and a low F. I'm not sure about Bushman. Their harps seem to be broken up into different sites. Lee Oskar only has the low F and high G (and so does Tombo who makes the Lee Oskars.)

I'm looking for something low like Rupert Oysler and Rick Estrin play on their DVDs. I play 1st position G on some things with singer-songwriters that would sound cool with low octaves and such.

I think Rupert Oysler is a Seydel guy. As far as I can find Seydel is the only company that makes anything lower than Low D. If you follow the Seydel link above and click on the Configurator you should be able to find something that will work. (If it goes to the German version of the site just find the little tab at the top with the Euro and dollar sign and click the dollar.)
The 1847 line doesn't go down as low as some of the other harps. I got the Blues Favorite. I think the cover shape is a lot more comfortable to play than normal covers. The Blues Session has the same shape. So I looking through, it looks like you can get the Blues Favorite, Blues Favorite-Black (more traditional cover), Blues Session (with normal or antique cover), and maybe the Blues Soloist Pro in Low G.
They cost about 2-3 times as much as a regular harp but they are still way cheaper than an orchestral base harp.

In 10 holes that's true, but, strictly speaking, Hohner's 14-holers go down to low C. ---------- Kinda hot in these rhinos!

Andrew- You're right, they do list the Steve Baker comes in low C, but Pimp, I can't find a Low G option. Where are you looking?
Are they labeling it by the starting note or what? The site doesn't seem to clarify.

I know for a fact that Seydel makes Low Low F's, meaning two octaves lower than the standard F, tho they make make one in G as well. Those are definitely NOT for newbies and you're gonna need a ton of woodshedding time to learn how to make any and all necessary adjustments with your embouchure as well as the inside shape of your mouth to play them properly.
What Rick Estrin uses is actally a 364/365 in either low C but more often in G, and it is NOT a low G at all, but the standard G, but the 365/365 has an extended upper register range, and uses a much longer reed, giving it a much deeper tone than the standard production G. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte

BBQ- The low keys aren't so bad if you are playing 1st position. It's when you have to start bending they get really tough. Sometimes the 1 hole jams and I have to tap the harp on my hand to get it to free up, and you have to play them gentle or the low reeds rattle against the cover.

Pimp, the lowest harp I could find on harponline was Low C, the G seems to be regular tuned.
