Alright, enough is enough. I love this site... I really do, but it's become quite evident to me that I've started using it as a procrastination tool, and I gotta stop.
Otherwise I'll never reach my dream goal of being able to challenge Buddha in a head cutting session. As it stands now, by my calculation, if I woodshed 8 hours a day, 365 days a year.....I should be ready by 2056...when I'll be 99.
So i'm goin' to the woodshed. Hey, that sounds like the start of a great blues tune
I'm goin' to the woodshed Don't know when i'm comin' out

Anybody got the Devil's number?

A lot of what makes Chris special doesn't have to do with playing harmonica. I am not talking about his "special needs", but specifically his harp playing.
It has just as much to do with his way of life and who he is as a person and not just musician.
So when woodshedding, remember to include the things that don't have to do with learning riffs. ;)
Effortless Mastery and The Mysticism of Sound and Music are excellent reads.

No matter what the hobby, I tend to spend more time with the peripherals rather than the actual hobby. In this case tinkering with mics/amps/harps, time spent on internet/mags/books, etc. A few years ago I decided to buy and rebuild a JT-30 and ended up sidetracked with collecting all types of bullet mics.
I've considered changing my name to "Woodshed Rich" in hopes of living up to the name! ---------- Ozark Rich
I know exactly what you mean. I'm an addict to this site and have to get a fix of it about four times a day. Aswell as tinkering with my harps, I've now taken to tinkering with tube amps. The mrs was at work today so i've had the day to myself and I've spent about four hours today on a valve jr, at least an hour on this site about two hours on other sites and played harp for about 40 minutes and that was only cos I was testing the amp!
H.O.B. I feel ya, man. Sometimes I get the feeling I'm getting a whole lot of input and offering no output, you know? Watching Adam and Jason's vides umpteen billion times, coming on here to read all the goodness, and the hundred thousand google searches to figure out "hey, how DO I learn to speak amp?" (I still don't know. I'm electronically challenged.)
Sometimes I guess you just gotta log off and play.
I have a regimen of stuff that I feel will maintain and advance my playing that I play on at least six harps going from low to high. This is my warm up. This is what happens if you do this. LOL
