Man, I feel my progression in my first year is way behind a lot of you other first year players. Mr Ashlock and Mr. Sparrow, both of you have progressed much faster than me. I've got to practice more I guess. Man, I've got the blues from not being able to play the blues, what's up with that! It's still been a great journey and I'm not giving up.
Just Me and My Harp
Just me and my harp She's all that I need Keep her close to my heart 'Cause she sets me free When I'm feeling low Or my day's gone all wrong Pull her out for a blow Let her play a sweet song She don't let me down She don't tell me no Don't give me no frown Always up for the show She's all that I got But she's there every time Wish they all was as hot As this old harp of mine Just give me my harp She's all that I need Keep her close to me heart 'Cause she sets me free
thanks guys stashburner i know how you feel it took me a year befor i could play Ode to joy without looking at the tab. Most people can do it a day or 2 its the 1st song Tony Eyers teaches at the school,I worked on it a little until i got mad then work on something else i took a 4 month break from it and just now can i play it from memory,I heard Mica i think thats his name play after 1 year the other day and i couldnt believe how good he was,Its frustrating,But youve heard the story about the turtle and the rabbit,And to quote Waltertore he said Sonny terry told him in 30 years we will know,If were still playing harp 30 years from now it just wont matter how fast or slow those first few years were.Ill see ya at the 30 year jam man ill bring the beer you bring the stash lol
Eharp yeh i played a few gigs last year and the band i was in played a ex strip club called Shanaagins in Tulsa oklahoma it still had mirrors all over the place and poles,I tried to get the girls there into it by showing them how its done but didnt have much luck lol
