So... work just cancelled for 2 weeks. I play with a band on the side, but that has also slowed for a bit. I also assume that many of you worldwide are experiencing similar situations. Hopefully we all stay healthy and make it through.

But, while I am essentially stuck at home, why not practice and take some lessons? I am self taught and would love a sit down to work through some stuff and learn more.

I know that many of you are gigging musicians who have taken a hit, but may have an interest in teaching or already offer lessons.

Just getting a feel for who is out there and what you offer.

Thanks!

I'm sure many of us here offer lessons. I teach daily on Skype. My rate is $35 for an hour lesson, which usually spills over the hour, for which there is no extra charge.

Jerry Portnoy, Rick Estrin and Dennis Gruenling offer great lessons on a site called Sonic Junction...they play a piece, break it down into smaller sections and show you what they do.

You can ask questions, post a video of your playing for comments, etc.

I believe they offer a free trial so you can determine if it works for you.

quote Todd Parrott ( My rate is $35 for an hour lesson)

$35.00 an hour is a great price for private lessons.

On the sidebar to the left of the page is a category named "harmonica teachers".It's got names and contact info for teachers that Adam has vetted.

I noticed Todd's name is not in the list, but it certainly should be!

Todd:

I will be happy to put you on that harmonica teachers page. Please email or call me to discuss this.

$35/hr is underpriced, frankly, and Todd is a terrific, experienced teacher. Five *****

$35 for an hour is quite reasonable, but as I posted on another thread, then I would have to practice!

Hey everyone. I had a lesson with Todd Parrot last night and it was awesome. He is first a great guy, it feels like you are talking with a friend. I would recommend him.

For those of us who can afford Skype lessons, it's also a great way to support hard-working educators and musicians who may be hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. Some of them are active on this forum and/or put free material on YT for everyone to enjoy. Time to give back, for those who can...
I can personally vouch for Michael Rubin. Great guy and awesome teacher.
But mostly : may everyone around here be well and stay healthy.
