I'll be driving up to the International Blues Challenge this year. I'm aiming to arrive early afternoon on Thursday, in time for the Blues Foundation members party, and will depart on Saturday morning before the finals.

Who's going? Who's competing? Once or twice in the past I have hosted a motel-room party, but I won't be doing that this year, just hanging out. I'll also be spreading the word about my new trio act--an act I'll talk about in another thread. I MAY bring along my Mouse and busk on Beale Street or in Handy Park.

If any MBHers or friends, or other important harmonica players whom we should be cheering on, will be there, please share info here. I've seen many fine players at the IBCs over the years and am looking forward to it.

I won't be making it to IBC, but I am a big fan of a local duo, "Black Eyed Lillies" who are competing in IBC from this area.

Lindsay Lilly sings most of the songs with Joe Asselin on harp and guitar. I enjoy her vocals, and they have written some good songs.

You may recall Joe Asselin from when he played harp with Kilborn Alley. Since then he has a solo act and has been playing in other bands. The duo has become more frequent recently for a good reason. Joe is a really good guitar player in addition to his good harp!

"Black Eyed Lilies" is a duo that is worth a listen if you get a chance. They will hopefully go far in the IBC.

I can't make it down this year from Minnesota, but check out local band Harrison Street in the competition. Joe Gagliardi plays some mean harp.
