Well now AArp is a senior (50+) publication here in the states
I am sure many of us are "of age"

This June issue under health and in particular keeping the mind sharp. Refers to a Harvard neurology study.
So the instrument they use for the example is sure enough a
harmonica.
A great improv instrument going on to state that listening to music may not be enough but participating in the play or making of music is the best benefit. Also listing singing as beneficial.

So yay for us all !!

Good stuff
Happy playing
Have fun !!

I am not yet at the AARP age, but I'm close enough that they keep sending me messages that make me feel older than I really am!

Does this mean people under 50 are called Juniors?

heh heh..
It's true we call most anybody younger as "Kids"
......used in a sentence...

..So I'm assuming there's some 40 yr old kids on the forums to keep the oldsters jumpin.

kind of misses the point of the article but you know kids these days...

humor is a great thing, keeps you young...

I surely can't argue with Harvard. I know my grandfather, who played harmonica most of his life, was lucid every day he lived until his passing at age 83 in the late 60's.
For me, I believe playing music has led me into better thinking processes and an overall feeling of well being and greater peace.

You are as young as you think you are. Unfortunately when I wake up in an arthritic body every morning I feel 92. (And they say this is moderate arthritis...)

Oh well. I play my harp. I take long walks instead of jogging. I ice as needed.
