Superbee, how about 365's? They are labeled Marine Bands but it never occurred to me to check.

Nate, 365s (and 364s I believe) use reeds from the same series as fit the chromonica harps, eg the 270.
Richard Sleigh called these ‘knittlinger’ reeds.
The word ‘knittlinger’ to me means a couple things
Just as the arrangement of 2 reeds per chamber on separate reedplates is ‘richter’ construction, I understand the arrangement of 2 reeds per chamber mounted on 1 reedplate, as in the typical chromatic, is knittlinger construction.
I think there was a harmonica factory in the German town of Knittlingen.
I just found a note from when I was repairing a 365, and I found the reeds in chamber 11 of a CX 12 matched up with the slots in chamber 11 of the 365. I only measured for the slot I needed but I’m confident you’d find the rest of the 365 slots match slots in the chromatic harps too

just coming back to the 365 question, im measuring up against a 260 and a cx12. the cx12 is fully valved though so i think i'll go for some 270 plates

measured the 270 and found the slots in chambers 1 - 10 are same as 260

slot 1 on the 260/270 matches up for length with slot 3 on the 365.

the first 7 slots in the 365 are the same width, and 3-7 match up with reeds in chambers 1 - 5 in the 260.

the rest of the reeds in the 260 are too wide to fit the remaining slots in the 365

slots in chambers 11 and 12 of CX12 match up to slots 11 and 12 of the 365

the slots on a CX12 from chambers 8 - 12 are the same width as slots 8 - 12 on the 365. i'm speculating because i dont want to remove windsavers, but with the 11 and 12 match up im feeling fairly confident the whole 8-12 is covered this way.

it looks like slots 1 and 2 will align with those chambers on the cx12 also..but i'm not taking off windsavers to find out for sure. not tonight anyway

13 and 14 though, i do not know

i dont have any hohner 16 holers to measure but the answer could well lie there. they dont match anything in the 10 hole hand-mades

good news though, single reeds are available fort the CX12 so we can buy single reeds for repairs to 365s.
