Hi, I don't have problems to tune the reeds higher or lower. I have problems to find out how should I tune the normal Richter harmonica to get an augmented tuning. Could somebody give me a table or description on that tuning, mara

Is that the same as augmented Spanish tuning?

Check this very useful WEBSITE out. Select Augmented from the various tunings. Also hover over the scales on the right and the breath patterns for the selected scale appear on the harp diagram on the left.

And this French guy's video. The sound is crap but gives some reference. Draw then blow in pairs on the chart.

Cool site Grey Owl! I was going to point him to Overblow.com but they never seem to have gotten back up. They used to have a tuning selection like that (with maybe even a few more tunings). I've bookmarked this one now though. :)

Thanks Grey Owl for the very useful link to different tunings. However, before I start to tune my Richter C-harp to Augmented harmonica I have a question. If I understand, blow reeds of holes 3, 6 and 9 should be raised a half step. Drew reeds of holes 1 and 4 also a half step. Drew reeds of holes 5 and 6 whole step. Then come something I maybe don’t understand. According those charts drew reed of hole 7 should be raised two whole steps. Hole 8 drew two and half steps so from D to G. Hole 9 drew three whole steps F=>B! And finally hole 10 A=>D (2.5 steps). If I try to raise the little (small) draw reed in hole 9 three whole steps F=>B by removing material from the reed there will be very l little metal left then. So my question is, do you think I have understood that chart right. Difficult to understand why F in the middle octave changes to G (hole 5) but F in the highest octave changes to B (hole 9) (C-harmonica), mara
ps. And thanks Kieron for your great help to me once I've been practicing the Beatles songs for few years ago. I finally finished Eleanor Rigby, which I have shared here and which you will find: https://youtu.be/TI2epr0B7lw

You're welcome Mara. Just looking at that chart for augmented on a C harp I'm seeing
Blow CEG#CEG#CEG#C
Draw EbGBEbGBEbGBD ?

@Maraboy It's not possible to raise the higher reeds more than a half step. So your options are to replace the reed or shift the tuning down.

As Gnarly says it's not possible to raise the higher reeds more than a half step and the option is to shift the tuning down? What do you mean - one octave? Must sound strange while playing. Because tuning the reeds lower great amount is so much easier I’m coming to solution how to make augmented C-harp: For blow I tune reeds in holes 3,6 and 9 a half step higher. For drew I’ll take reed plate from F-harmonica. Then I have to tune only hole 9 reed a half step higher. 8 and 10 remains unchanged all other reeds I have to tune lower between half and two and half steps but that’s quite easy task:
