Domino was huge in the fifties: the top-selling R&B artist and only beaten in the Pop market by Presley. Plus his first record, "The Fat Man" was one of the first rock-and-roll records.
The picture, by the way, is Domino's home in the ninth ward in the early days after Katrina when he was rumoured to have drowned.

@Nate my parents took me to see Phantom in LA when I was 15. Guillaume was the "new Phantom." I didn't fully appreciate it and couldn't really talk to my friends about a broadway show while wearing a Metallica t-shirt, but it was really a great experience. After the show, Dad took me to a record store in Hollywood. I told clerk liked the blues–SRV, Clapton, Johnny Winter, etc. he said, "Boy, that's not the blues. Try this..." and sold me Muddy's 'One More Mile' box set. That was the day I found the *real* blues.
