Got my Lucky 13's in the mail yesterday. Made an 'unboxing" and initial review video. Hope you find it informative!

I'm curious what's it like slapping the 2 draw? With all the extra low end under the tongue it must be pretty fat but is it too fat?

I should just buy one :)

Great video! I like the mix of enthusiasm and fact.

The Lucky 13 does seem like a very practical format, given how useful the bottom three holes are for general purpose playing, esp. in crossharp.

On the YT vid someone commented they were like the SBS, but they're not are they? Different 'bonus holes' or so I've read.

Since you must have been playing them for 24-hours without a break now :)... how do you find them for cupping, hand effects with and without a mic?

Just like the SBS. Except

The SBS below C are not 'low tuned' in the first 3 chambers. That is, the SBS G and A start from the same note as a normal 10 hole harp. The note layout is the same as a lucky 13, in that the pattern of holes 1-3 is repeated from 4-6, then 7- 10 is like 4-7 of a standard 10 hole.
But the C and D and F are just like the lucky 13 (ie: low tuned octave plus a 14th chamber)

The SBS is a very lively harp seems louder than normal Marine band dont know if these new ones are similat in that repect

Got it. Do you think that in the G and A keys that the lower or higher pitched variants are more useful?

Re Easttop, I'd be hopeful that they would be nice and responsive. Well, based on my sample of one so far. Currently we can only get one model in the UK.

Hi all, glad the vid was interesting! Yes, another 24hrs and some realizations... Cupping: no issues. This is a little deeper and taller than a normal 10 holer, and of course it's longer. But it's not nearly as big as a chromatic or even a tremolo. So it is very cuppable and comfortable to hold. It is very responsive. As responsive as an ootb special 20 or marine band, imo. Good quality, very playable.

I have never had an sbs, so can't compare. I would say, don't hesitate to buy one of these , though. Will update as I play more. Still getting my head around the extra notes and jumping from bass to normal octave ranges.

The SBS in A is just about totally useless.......but my SBS in C (equipped with a tasty hardwood comb from Randy Sandoval!) is as Superbee revealed....my desert island harp, plays like sweet caramel!!!!!!

Ok hope all is going well Isaacullah on the L13s........they have been 'playing on my mind' a bit, and I have most low keys in my kit but don't have Bb or A so I've lashed out and just bought both keys in Lucky 13s! Yeeeehaaarrrr!

Nice! Yes, all is still going well with mine. They are definitely tuned sharp compared to my Hohner. They play well, however, and gapping seems to help a lot with those few reeds that are airy.
