Well Ed,
Let us know which way you go.
Truth is, you are on your way to a house full of amps, a suitcase full of mics and harmonicas everywhere you look.
Incidentally, I just scored an early 60's Claricon 44-100 tube PA amp on ebay for $20 (+$20 shipping). About the size of a lunch box. You just never know when the collection might grow.

Hi Ed, see if you can try one of the Vox AV series amps. They are a tube hybrid and offer analogue modelling, not so much as to get confusing but enough to get a great harp tone and, when needed, the flexibility for guitar and vocals.
I got the AV 60 on a deal and it's great.
They fit in to your budget perfectly.
