Also, one of the most useful pieces of online software I have ever found:
href="http://javascript.about.com/library/blscr01.htm">HTML to Text
If you even need to put HTML on the page for someone to look at paste it in the box on this page and convert it so you can display it without having to take pieces out- so you can leave the pointy brackets in.
Goldbrick, I don't know. I think he's just having good fun and giving a good show. They seem to book pretty well. Hawkeye isn't with them anymore though.
Winslow, I don't know if you changed it again, but it seems to be displaying correctly now.
@nacoran - OK, I'm using Safari, and I can see ValleyDuke's version, but can't see mine or yours. I could see yours for awhile, then I couldn't. =========== Winslow
@Winslow I don't think you can post stuff from Dropbox like that - I copied the image and put it on PostImg.org.
Anyway, cool that he responded. He's quite likely going to be the VP, and the only reason to be VP is to get elected President later. So, I would frame that note - if nothing else, you can sell it on eBay someday.
I know there can be some issues with Dropbox. First, it's got to be in the Public folder, and second, newer Dropbox accounts don't come with that feature (older accounts are grandfathered in). The code was working, so it had to be a change on the Dropbox folder permissions of some sort. That's harder for me to troubleshoot from this end. (And of course, it has to be the image URL, not the page URL).
I use Dropbox. I made a subfolder in my Public folder called something like 'posted to the internet- don't move these' so that I don't accidentally move or delete a file and break the link. We just host the link here. It permanently links to the file in your Dropbox, so if that ever moves it breaks. (Even right clicking and cutting and pasting doesn't get me to it now from your Dropbox.)
