Howzit all,

In another thread re Marine Band Deluxes being discontinued in the USA I spoke of a conversation I had w/ Ron Hobdy Of RockinRonsMusic4less regarding replacement reed plates.

I remarked that replacement reed plates for both MBDs and Crossovers were the same according to Hobdy. (That was 3 years ago? at least.
I have just received an e-mail from Hobdy saying that Xover and MBD replacement reed plates received by Hobdy are NOW marked indicating whether they are intended for Deluxes or Crossovers.
This being the case I would strongly assume that the MBDs are Hohner Compromise Tuning and that the Crossovers are the Crossover tuning that I believe is Steve Bakers baby.

Sorry for any confusion/mis-information I have spread.

Hmm. At the 2014 SPAH, Hohner distinctly told me that the reed plates and reeds on the MB, MBD, and Crossover were all the same: the only difference was tuning and combs (and nails in the case of the MB).

Yeah, that's right Phil, they are the same, except for the tuning.
But the replacement plates used to be 'the same'.
