Howzit Everyone-
I started a thread called Chromatic Valves in a Pinch. I can't find it. Anyway, I made valves out of the plastic window on a of Oatmeal cookies from Walmart.
They are totally Awesome for a few days. Now, it has been over a week and they are starting to buzz,,,, just as chromaticblues AKA Kevin Baker predicted.
He gave them a month. No such luck, I got about nine days out of them.
Soooo, when it comes to homemade valves I learned a valuable lesson. Actually a few lessons. This is why I like MBH. Every so often someone offers valuable information. Important things you didn't know. For me, it is repair and maintenance info. Or faster ways to set reeds, etc.
Kevin Baker is the man around here for chromatic harps but i'll tell you, he makes a mean SP/20 too. Not bad MBs either.
I'm going back to Hohner valves, Kevin. They last a long time if installed correctly. You were right. Have a good day.
---------- Have good day. M.A.P. .
