Dunno what it is , but JR's style of harp really pushes the right buttons for me. I love both the acoustic and full amplified versions.

Oh man that was cool. That looked like an awesome venue to see this guy's in. Nice and personal. Their album is one of my favorites. Just great stuff! Thanks for posting.

Definatly. Live was a whole new level. The best show I've ever seen, hands down. And no pyrotechnics needed. 8^)> Phenomenal. I wish i could post the whole gig to share it with yall, but i don't think they would appreciate it too much. If you have a chance to see em anywhere on the rest of the tour, do it.

Very cool venue. I posted more about it in the beginner forum if you're interested.

JR is always ineffably super (Pat Ramsey on steroids and human growth hormone) and his musical marriage to JJ (A heckuva nice guy who must be on fire about JR since he Loves harmonica) is super too. Olympian stuff!

Well said. I hadn't heard of JJ until the album came out, but it's great. And so is JJ. Nice dude. I bought the album about a month ago. Really because of the tour. I wanted to atleast hear what it was they would be playing. Honestly the first time around i thought it was ok. After about the third time i listened to it I Loved It. It's a great album, it really is. I think at first it just wasnt what i was expecting. I hope they put out another.

This was my first experience with Any pro player. I have seen and even helped produce hundreds of shows, but this is the first time i had seen a pro harmonica player live. And I was absolutely blown Away.

Jason broke boundaries and built his blues/rock/jazz reputation with his amplified playing, using fast chromaticism and intense long solos. But he also plays old school fundamental blues styles extremely well. Just hearing him noodle in the lobby before Harmonica Collective was inspiring.

I love that he is involved in making more acoustically based music in addition to his amplified band. In these videos and onstage at SPAH I heard him meld the fast chromatic playing with old school groove based harp, and it is awesome.

We heard him Thursday night in Beckley, WV. David Payne said, "Jason is about the best rhythm harp player there is, but you don't hear people talking about that."

Wow, I really like that "I'm a New Man" tune - great lyrics and harp work...and subtlety...JR can do subtle when he wants to.

And Jason has come a long way as a vocalist. All in all, this might be my favorite JR clip yet.

Killa, never mind JInx. He has some sort of compulsion to be grumpy on ever Ricci thread. Personally, I hate Elvis Presley, and millions of people love him, so I know what it's like to not be on the bandwagon.

Of course, JInx, I don't go to threads about Elvis Presley to pick fights. I don't know if anyone will get the reference, but it's Funny, sir, how you always seem to find yourself in an Alliance-friendly bar, come U-Day, lookin’ for a quiet drink.

I thought that JInx showed admirable restraint and wit in his predictable criticism.

Hey, I'm trying. I watch all the stuff promoted here. But, the more I watch, the stranger it gets. I'm interested in the mind and group aesthetic. This forum is fascinating in its, sort of odd ball construct and defensive posture.

Killa: I hate to have to step in here as majordomo, especially because Jinx can indeed be an instigator, but in this case he is right: you can't call somebody a douche on this forum. Those sorts of direct personal insults are patently against the forum rules, and the penalty for violating the rules is...not anything you want to incur. Nacoran is playing Good Cop here. Please tone it down.

Opinions may be supportive or not to any artist/video. Posting that you don't like a performance or the way an artist plays is not being a "hater".

Freely expressing opinions is guaranteed by the US Constitution, btw.

I've noticed that Jason's fans seem to be more aggressive at going after those that don't agree with them. That's kinda "cultish".

Must be something in the water?

As a touchy old person myself (with the high blood pressure to prove it), I agree with Iceman. I second your mild protest.

That last response from Killa was utterly disrespectful, a bit like flipping the bird at the forum in general.

Hey Killa:

It's nothing personal. We're just trying to keep the peace. The rules are the rules. Either you find a way of abiding by them, in which case you're a member in good standing here, or you break them, in which case you become one of a handful of people we are forced to ice.

Fun is fine. Direct personal insults--"Jinx your still a douche"--are not. It's quite possible that you participate in other boards and forums where that sort of stuff is OK. It's not OK here.
