This is a short riff that I came up with which puts me in mind of elephants for some reason (hence the title)I filmed a video to go along with it. I’m using a Big River harp in Low D.

To be fair though the player in this vid thought I came to mind on his riff ;)

Pretty cool Grey Owl. I'd love to hear a Tuba or Bass Harmonica backing that up.

Killa, the worst part about cutting heads with an elephant is even if you play better than them they will just stomp on you and rip your arms off. They are kind of like wookies that way. :)

Owl, yeah, it does have an elephant sound, although you might accentuate it even more by playing it even slower. It might be a fun exercise to come up with riffs for different animals. I know some classical composers had a knack for writing pieces to represent flowing rivers or flying birds. :)

Thanks for the comments/suggestions.

Nate I toyed with the idea of Elephant and mouse, playing a variation of the theme using a regular D for the mouse but couldn't get it sorted out right.

Nate, have you heard the harmonica work Wade Schuman did for "Songs For Unusual Creatures ?

Your comment reminded me of it.
