I know theres already a section for this, but nobody uses it. I was thinking if athread was created it may actually get used. I find it nearly impossible to find any good blues shows/events. For instance ronnie shellist was just in philly, but its not on his site nor was it on hohners and it was a hohner roadshow.. And i didnt hear about it until it was over. I really wanna get to more shows. But theyre not easy to find. So just a thought. Maybe a sticky up top with no comments or chit chat. Just post ... event, date, details. If you hear of an artist touring or a small local gig even. Whatcha think? ---------- 1.21 JigaWatts N' Punch It To 88

i thought the ronnie shellist thing was more of a hohner model example given at george's ,rather than a show. i was out near george's but didn't think of going, because i'm not hohner oriented, but you're right,it wasn't well advertised . i only heard about it because of friends at the music store. ---------- www.shakeylee.com

Well regardless i would have liked to check it out ...Plus its hard to keep tabs on what every artist is doin. So i suggest that if your on, lets say, kim wilsons web site and see that hes touring Post it in the sticky. Even local groups/ gigs/events. Basically what blues jam forum is supposed to be, if it were used. I just think if it were part of this forum people might remember to use it.
Or perhaps there is another site/resource someone could point me in the direction of. ---------- 1.21 JigaWatts N' Punch It To 88

Someone pointed me towards a site called bandisintown.com. (I think it was Isaac) You put in the type of music you like and it lets you know when shows are near you. It's a little pushy- I clicked on a show in my email to find out more and it autoposted onto my facebook, but it does get the job done.

hi killa. i live right in center city philadelphia.all the harp on my site is me on harp."i just quit sounds different than others because it is handheld rather than racked.
i primarily find out about shows through FB.or,musicians that come to my shows tell me about theirs.i am friends with most philadelphia blues musicians, and of course musicians from NOLA,chicago, austin and california. so,if they're coming into town, they might message me.
there is constant blues going on in philly.some places to keep in mind are fiume',ortlieb's,cappelli brothers, the el bar, kungfu necktie, the M room, the fire, and twisted tail,to name a few.
if i have a night off,i might check artist's sites, but there are whole gaps, you're right.
for example, sheldon zero lived here for quite some time, and i didn't even know about him, till he moved back down south, because i don't frequent jams. i would have liked to have heard him at twisted tail.
martin lang might come in for a workshop,i will let you know if he stays with me,we can do some jamming.
i would like to hear you play,so please get in touch.if you live near philly, let me know where, and i can let you know some things going on in your area.for example there was an early show in morton PA today with harmonica slim, etc.you can always FB message me- shakey lyman
i think some kind of gig bulletin board might be a good idea. ---------- www.shakeylee.com

Shakey I live in Wilmington DE. I don't have Facebook, i hate all that crap. N it keeps the GF of my ass. But im considering getting one if it ll help me find some good events and keep in touch with the "scene".
The reason i asked who was playing harp was because of the singing over it. So i just assumed someone was playing behind your vocals. Sounds great bro.
Anyhow I'm not great on Harp, but i can play. But i would love to get up n jam. I don't personally know anyone else who plays harp. so it would be great to jam with someone who knows what s up. And maybe gimme a lil jedi advice. Ha.
Also how do i get on this email list u speak of?

I don't think you need FB to use bandsintown.com. It's linked to my FB, but I get emails too.

Bandsintown has an app. Nice. Unfortunately its only for major acts. Theyre in short supply these days. Wish they had something more local.
Nacoran i see you tried to do what i suggested back in 2010. So i should just let it go, huh? Lol. ---------- 1.21 JigaWatts N' Punch It To 88
