I carry two Crossovers with me (an A and C), but was wondering what you guys consider the best bang for the buck in an everyday harp. Crushproof covers and quality of harp. Having a case so the lint doesn't get in the harp helps as well.
I'm thinking Golden Melodies are fairly crush proof, but Seydel's Big Six cuts down on the size.

I carry a self customised C Marine Band in my front pants pocket.
My advice is to get a case from a Suzuki Folkmaster, all sandwich construction M.B.s with stock cover plates will fit inside and with the additition of a couple of narrow strips of sill gasket foam (I'm a carpenter) or equivalent, it will not rattle inside the case.
The case is smallish, well designed, and made from good quality plastic. The case I use has an even, dull patina from wear, but is undamaged after more than three years in my pocket at work and play.

I have been carrying a Seydel Solist Pro (C) in my pocket for 3 years. I like Seydel's leather sleeve: it keeps out dirt and lint, but is not as bulky as a plastic box case. It has a small profile with just the thin leather sleeve. The covers are very crush-proof. It plays well and has stayed in tune. I love the comb. All my other Seydels are Session Steels, but the brass reeds on this Solist are also nice. It is very expressive. It can be played softly/quietly when required, which is handy as I walk the city streets, or play in the park or in the metro station. I can be discreet.

I put my Harp of the Day into a Crossover (Deluxe, Thunderbird cases are the same) zippered case and put that on my belt. After a bit of stretching, the big harps like LOs and Seydels fit just fine. The case is oriented horisontally, so one can bend at the waist. I've gotten adept at taking the harp in and out of the case with one hand.
At first, I was concerned the case's elastic band would rot and pull out, but after two and a half years of hard, daily use, there has only been some minor stretching at the edges.
I also like the Seydel leather sleeves for putting a harp in a front- or breast pocket. No harp should be expected to survive being put in a back pocket and sat on.

Hohner Rockets all the way. They don't even need to be customized at all. they already have a built in bracket in the center of the harp to prevent crushing.

I can sit on my Solist Pro in the back pocket of my jeans. It's not very comfortable, but the harp suffers no damage. The Solist Pro is crush-proof.

I have one of those leather cases by Hohner that has the belt loop on it. I keep this on my carabiner that holds my keys. I have a Lee Oskar in Bb that stays there. It's always with me. No problems with getting crushed since it isn't in my pocket. I have used one of the Seydel soft cases for a single harp for in pocket use. I always have a pocket knife on me and the extra bulk of the harp got to me before too long. So I went with the afore mentioned Hohner belt case.

I use the hohner zipper case and put whatever harp I feel like playing in it, but generally it is a C golden melody that I carry around. Never had any crush problems, but it is in my front pocket. All my different harps fit pretty well in those cases. Marine bands rattle though .

The Seydel Big Six only has holes 1-6 so it would be even smaller in your pocket.
I, however, carry a 16 hole chromatic in my pocket at all times. To impress the ladies. ---------- Marc Graci YouTube Channel

I try to buy clothes that will accommodate carrying harps around. Jean Jacket is my favorite choice this season. I find digital camera cases just about the right size for 4-6 harps. $2 at most thrift stores. Those 7-harp zipper cases you get from Hohner when you buy 1 of their 5 harp SP20 or MB sets is just the right size for inner coat pockets and perfect for my car harps.
Aside from all that, I think I'm an ordinary human.

Bought an inexpensive leather folding knife holder with belt loop at a flea market. Fit's my Suzuki Harpmaster and Bluesmasteror Delta Frost harps snugly and therefore should fit many Hohner models (Suzuki's are slightly larger. My Sp20 fits well).

@ME....The Hohner harp holder I use looks just like a knife holder. I notice a lot of people look at it and get a little unsettled look on their face. I guess that they're thinking I'm gonna pull it out and start slashing away. One friend of mine asked what it was. I told him it was my weapon of choice. Unfid the snap and started to pull it out. He got real fidgety till he saw what it was. ---------- I'm workin on it. I'm workin on it.

For pocket harps I prefer something with closed backs. It's harder for pocket lint to get in them!
I tend to wear carpenters jeans- lots of pockets.

I second or third the motion on the Seydel leather sleeves. They are great. I have a bunch of them and just carry whatever harp I happen to feel like playing that day in one of them. For the past year I've been mostly carrying Special 20's. ---------- Tom Halchak www.BlueMoonHarmonicas.com

Sp20 for me. They feel like they are pretty tough and they aren't crazy expensive to replace if they get damaged, lost or whatever.

I don't advertise in Dirty South forum threads but since y'all are talking about leather cases I reckon I'll break stride to mention mine.
I make two styles of leather cases for single diatonics and one for two at a time. Each has advantages over the Seydel pouch, but alas, they aren't free. If you want something more protective, better looking and longer lasting than the Seydel pouches, these might interest you.
The first is a high-end crush-proof wet molded, suede lined case made of thick full grain leather. They have belt loops and are intended to provide full protection for your harps in an external environment like on a waist or a carabiner clipped to a pack or the like. They're hand stitched like a fine saddle and will be handed down to your next generation harper.
The other style I call my "Softy" series, in one and two harp models, the "Softy Single" and "Softy Double" (for the times one just isn't enough). They are made to carry in pocket or purse out of garment or glove leather and have glove snap closures (the inside of the snaps are covered with leather to prevent them from scratching your expensive instrument). No lint will creep inside these cases.
You can see pictures and read about the details here:

Depends on what you are expecting to play I guess.I traveled around the UK for a month last year with 3 Big sixes only. They sat invisibly in my shirt pocket.I only played at a few jams as i moved around so the keys of A,C and D,given the nature of most jams, did the job well enough.
