Playing last night with my guitar buddy our usual floaty. improv stuff in minor keys and at the break a couple of girls came over while we were having a beer and one said:
"I came in here feeling down and listening to you play I found myself adopting the foetal position and it was like swimming in the still waters of my mother's womb"
There is definitel a young crusty 'hippy' element to this area of Bristol (uk)!!

Congrats, that's a great compliment! (I expect others won't be able to resist the opportunity for snarkasm, we'll see...)

Somewhat similar to a complement I was given by an attractive young lady. "Mister, I don't know what you are doing to me but, you are making me wet!" Her boyfriend gave me a big smile and a thumbs up. LOL I think this all means we are playing well...BN

It sounds like she has a knack for poetic language. Can she sing?

that has to be like the only way someone could possibly say they heard you play and wanted to adopt the fetal position and still have it be a compliment.
people are weird!

I just get crusty old dudes saying I killed it or something. Maybe I should head to the UK?
For the good compliments, of course.

I have had people tell me the music I am making is "relaxing"--I consider this high praise for harmonica music. Needless to say, it was not my wife who told me this! I also had someone mistake the chromatic for a saxophone!
