I am having knee replacement surgery this Monday and will likely be absent from this board for a bit. I'm not looking forward to the procedure, but I am looking forward to the long term result , being able to walk without pain after decades of aggravation. Meanwhile, a new improv here, which I hope you enjoy.:)

what do you mean when you say replacement?
that sounds painful.

i injured my knee 4 weeks ago, i am hoping it heals on it's own. i am worried it may need surgery at some point.

is the afordable care act of any help with cost
of the surgery?

The guy that taught me my trade (steel erector, he's retired yonks ago) got his knee replaced about 8 years ago and although it's pretty major he recovered great and you would not know he had it done!

Speedy recovery to ya!

Good luck on your surgery Ted. Once it heals up it should make you a lot more mobile. Modern medicine is amazing.

A fellow I know reports from his knee surgery, "do all the therapy they tell you". The important thing is to get the flexibility back in the joint. Even though it hurts, do what you are told.

I wish you luck.

Ted...I had my left knee replaced two years ago and have never looked back.....no more pain and the movement in that area is as good as it ever was.
Yes...its pretty major surgery, but I have to say I never suffered any unbearable pain post op and was walking without sticks after 3 weeks.Total recovery for me was around 2 months.Like Jim says do all the therapy that is offered, and more when your sitting around.Good luck...and if anything it will give you even more playing time while your sitting around.
Enjoyed your Autumn groove too!

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone. That does me good going in. My head , naturally, is a bit dislocated, which we can see in this video, which is a basic shuffle in G and which has me hashing out my usual combinations first in F and then in C. It sounds odd but good to my ears (and bear in mind that I have a life time hearing loss), but I think it is symbolic representation of my trying to hold it together. :)

Thanks, mi amigos and amigas.
