Out of respect for the "almost" no self-serving posts policy here I haven't said much about the new Bulletini mics with The Heumann Element. I introduced it on Facebook and there has been plenty of discussion there about it.
But it is fair game to ask "how do you guys like the Bulletini?" so I'm asking here. I welcome your input!
Rick Davis just posted this video of JD Taylor testing a Bulletini with the Memphis Mini amp:
Love JD's sweet horn like tone. That to me is just how amplified harp should sound.
I haven't tried a Bulletini, but is sounds very good in every clip I've heard of them. You've got another great product on your hands there Greg. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that we all appreciate the great service you bring to the community.
Just out of interest Greg, how much are the Heumann Elements on their own?
I sell The Heumann Element for $159. Gaskets available for most common mic shells are $15. ---------- *************************************************** /Greg
I have The Heumann Element installed in a JT30 and it has great output and tone.
It particularly likes my Bassman which is a relatively toppy amp, but THE is quite dark and really brings out the bottom end, allowing me to push the treble higher than I normally would on that particular amp. Brings out some nice tonal variations.
It's a great product, I'm sure the Bulletini will prove hugely popular.

Sounds good. Budget is always my concern, but at some point I will be buying some sort of mic from you. I've been within a couple days of pulling the trigger before only to have some sort of financial disaster come up. Maybe you need to work with a financing company... I hear that's where the car companies make their real money! :)
I've been playing the Bulletini for a few weeks at home and with the group and it's exactly what I wanted. Partly practical, partly the sound.
- Light weight, small diameter, easy to hold for long periods. - Volume control in the right place. - Removable cable - However rudimentary my own technique may be, it responds well to my cupping, and variations in cup. - Less prone to feedback than any other mic I've tried, which makes life so much easier. - I like the sound I'm making with it.
As a learner I wanted a mic that is the 'right thing' so that if I don't get the right sound I know it's me not the equipment.
I'm not saying I'd never buy another bullet mic, but I'm not sure what other features I'd be looking for.
EDIT: While I remember - something I found, and didn't plan beforehand, was that because it is so light I can do shakes at a more rapid tempo with hands. With a heavy mic I had to shake my head, which works but I don't like so much.

I have a bulletini and love it. Sounds great and is way easier for me to hold than a traditional bullet. Right now it is my favorite mic but I tend to change on that from time to time.
I`ll say this about the bulitizer,i put one on a 545 and it`s cooking there,it gives me a whole new direction of honk and waa, nuff said, thanks.......
I really can't tell much from the videos because in both of them the microphone's being played through a very small amplifier. I'd like to hear through a big amp with four 10" speakers.
That part of the Deak Harp/Harp Train 10 video where he demonstrates feedback squares with my experience.
It seems reluctant to feedback. Obviously it must feedback at some volume/proximity and when it does I found it to be with a low-pitched note rather than ear-piercing screech I get from a vocal mic.
Both very desirable features in my book. Maybe vintage bullet mics behave like that too, I wouldn't know.

I really like the Bulletini. I have used it extensively for both gigs and jams. Easy to hold, easy to cup (particularly for Chromatic) and, for me, it has a great sound. Some maintain it has too much bass for them, which I can understand, but with my amp (Marble Harpwood) it is easy to dial in the right sound. A BIG sound from a little mic.
I wouldn't claim this to be the be all and end all of microphones, but it is certainly useful. As I quite often have to fly with my harp case, it is great to have a small mic in my arsenal. It is also nice not to have to worry about whether the Crystal has broken ;-)
Here are some pics of it in action ... (Can't figure out how to embed!)

@Little Roger - I've not had a single complaint that the mic has too much bass. If you dime the bass control on your Bassman, then yes, it will have too much bass. So you can't set your amp up the same way with the Bulletini that you might with other mics. On larger amps, you need to turn the bass down from where you normally set it. The instructions that come with the mic say this.
@TMF thanks for the correction. ---------- *************************************************** /Greg
