There's an over 30% reduction on my own-brand PowerBender, PowerDraw, Suzuki PowerBender and 12-hole Slide Diatonic harps for September:

I know, I just bought one and I am really excited about the thought of playing bottom end riffs up the top without having to turn my brain upside down Yeeha!

Brendan, Are there any significant differences between your PB branded harps and your Suzuki Harpmasters tuned to PB?

I got my Powerbender after three days!, now that's service. It looks like a Special 20 and plays pretty good,( I will seal the comb cos it leaks a bit but not much). I am having fun finding new top end riffs and runs on this thing, it is deffo easier to play up the top end so all in all I am well pleased.

Yes, Jinx, it probably should be. Brendan, things like this should be in the for sale thread, not on it's own thread. It's just about clutter. It's one of those things where if everyone did it the front page would be overrun with ads. That said, if you check with us ahead of time and you have a new product launch or something we'll let you go ahead with it, so if you have a new tuning or something it's probably worth a new thread (but if it's something you are selling, check first). If it's a sale or just a reminder to people that you are selling something it should be limited to the for sale thread. ---------- Nate Facebook Thread Organizer (A list of all sorts of useful threads)

Well, I received 2 harps 1 in C and 1 in A. The A harp was unplayable out of the box. At least 7 out of 10 holes were very airy and bends were not there. Just aweful. It felt equivalent to a 5 dollar harmonica. Brendan says the gapping is checked by someone he trained. They need to be fired! After about an hour gapping it is still unplayable. This will need major reed shaping and possible comb work by a customizer in order to play it properly. The C harp was much better after about 30 minutes of gapping I am getting close to an exceptable harp although the 9 10 bends I am still tweaking to see if it is me or the harp. The 1,2,3 are still airy but playable.
The harps Brendan demos must have had major work. I hope others that order have better luck then me. I wanted to try this tuning so figured if I liked the tuning I would buy some seydels. Probably should have just ordered one to start... I really thought the harp would be close to a special 20. The good news is the harp is comfortable and feels in hand like a special 20.
Edit: The 9 and 10 bends are more technique and adjustment. To get the 9 and 10 bends it is very close to doing a overdraw..at least it feels that way to me.

@528hemi I was a little discouraged when I read that, but it is a $34 harmonica. I don't think I would expect it to have been set up for that price.

First up, apologies for not posting this in the For Sale thread, will do so for similar posts in future. But to answer posts above:
@A440, the Suzuki version is superior quality, though not massively different OTB.
@hemi, when you emailed with your comments I requested an MP3 of your issues, which you declined to provide. I have sold hundreds of these harps with very few complaints, so am surprised you found such bad fault with both of yours. Maybe one could be defective, but both seems unlikely.
I wonder if the trouble you're having could partly be getting used to doing high draw bends? On Richter harps players never draw bend beyond hole 6, but now they extend up to hole 10. It's fun, but requires you to finesse your draw bending technique to get the right pressure and control way up high, which can take a little practice. Hard to say where the problem lies unless you send me a clip of your playing.
And no, the harps I demoed in the video were straight out of the box, absolutely nothing done, no gapping, nada. However I am playing PowerBender all the time, so my familiarity with the layout and draw bending throughout the range means I can play them well even in stock form. For a Richter player trying them for the first time there is the combination of a different note sequence as well as the high draw bending to adjust to. Possibly that 'shock of the new' could cause frustration in some and a tendency to blame the harp. But if you have patience I guarantee the fun from exploring all the fresh possibilities will put a smile on your face.
These harps are not Ferraris, just average models to give players curious about exploring my tunings the chance to do so at a modest price. Expecting them to play OTB like a Crossover is unrealistic, though smart gapping and embossing will reap good rewards.
That being said, I have new improved models coming very soon, including the return of the Low F - which will of course be announced in the For Sale thread ;-)
