Hi everyone. Wondering if any of you out there in harmonica land also happen to know anything about the seedy underbelly of web-hosting. We've got a couple members having problems accessing the site. We've already had them run a little .rar file (and the mac equivalent) to generate a report for the server hosts to see if they were trying to access the site from a blocked IP address, and that came back clean for both of them. Our hosts have asked them to try signing in from a public DNS, which one of them already was doing. I've googled a little, but after the 'clearing your cache' or 'try another browser' advice it's all above my proverbial pay grade stuff. There is something about editing your host files, and other stuff, but that's pretty much Greek to me.

Difficulty level- One account is in Russia (this has been a recurring problem for our Russian harmonica comrades). One is PC and one is a Mac. One's email kept bouncing back to me every time I tried to include a attachment (maybe they have some security at their end?)

If you can point me to good resources I will be in your debt. If you can help me talk them through and come up with a permanent troubleshooting list I will praise you and make a (terrible, sorry, I'm not very good) drawing/photoshop of you on top of a throne of harmonicas (styled after the Game of Thrones throne.)

Thanks,
Nate

I had been unable to access the site from home for some time unless I used VPN. Eventually I guess the system blacklisted my VPN as I could not access the site at all from home. I could access from work or from a public wi fi with the same computer but not on my home wi fi. I got new VPN software about a month ago and now I can access the site through VPN at home but not directly through my home wi fi, I guess that one is still blacklisted. I don't know if this info helps you understand the problem or not or if others are having similar problems. I know I don't understand it.

Get them to work through these lists to at least eliminate the common problems:
http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-if-You-Can't-Access-a-Particular-Website
http://www.pcworld.com/article/247397/why_cant_i_access_this_web_site.html

It might be g(r)eek to you but at least the first link has well laid out instructions.

Logically if it's a only a very small number of people it could be one of these issues.

or not!

But easier to solve if you work through a checklist.

There's probably some more but this would be a good start.
