That's a 48 chord, not a bass--still pretty darned cool.

I always loved that tune.

At one point we played it over the top of one of our songs. (Our song had a bit about listening to songs on the car radio).

Sometimes you just need to listen to something slow and pretty.

Here is Charlie's version:

I think it is a great diatonic version, but I prefer slide guitar, preferably pedal steel. I like the slide with chord harmonica.

Charlie's version is very nice, but ouch, that piano playing is just painful.

You got a reverb - and and attack - that's very reminiscent of the sound of the Harmonicats' original recording of Peg O'My Heart - was that on purpose? Either say, it sounds just right for the chord harp.

Hey Winslow! Hmmm...well I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but the classic Peg recording is definitely a favorite of mine both performance-wise and sonically! Combine that with the fact I picked up what I know of the technique to the instrument from Michael Burton, a former Harmonicat, and perhaps the Peg similarity was inevitable!

We recorded 4 videos totally live and each got a slightly different treatment in the mix...with the inherent strengths and weaknesses of the recording setup, we did we we could...you might enjoy hearing the rest:

I'd love to hear what you think!

@1847...for what it's worth, our video of Oh Darlin' from the same session features (albeit a bit quietly) a bit of bass harp.

Best,
Ross

I really like the Charlie M version and the harmonica playing the slide part and the other version of this I love is the Brian Setzer Orchestra version.
