Any success stories? I'd like to keep my harps standing up in my case in something that's not foam. I'm pretty sure they corrosion factor has increased on my plates because of the time the take to dry without enough air around them. I can't quite picture the cut but wood would be nice.

My preferred case insert is the Seydel Belt Bag for 12 Harmonicas (actually can hold 14), shown on the Seydel site HERE Click image 4 to see 12 harps. Two more can be added, one at each end, sideways. In the US it costs around $25, give or take. I use two of these and one 6 harp bag (can hold 8) and move the modules to different cases depending on my needs. ----------

My brother made me two single harp holders out of chainmail. (A little heavy duty though for a lot of harps).
I've been thinking about solutions myself. If the harps are going to lay on their backs in the case you could make the slot so that the harp couldn't go all the way down in it, so there is airflow through the harp. You might even ventilate the case so air can get in.

I use Kydex thermoplastic for the divider in my "Compact" series of hybrid leather/plastic cases. It comes in sheets that become flexible when heated. You then form it and let it cool and it retains the formed shape.

Good luck and please tell us what you come up with.

I used plastic harp boxes that were lopped off and taped together.
Then I took some material and covered all the foam.

I once made an aluminum case using 1/16" ABS plastic sheet as lining and dividers. I used replaceable foam inside the lid to eliminate rattle.
I got the idea while passing through a shipping department and seeing them cut cardboard like this.
