Hello MBH'ers who live in New York,
I'm writing for your help with a very important issue: In New York State, all of the insurance plans listed on the NYStateOfHealth insurance exchange limit prosthetic benefits to amputees; specifically, they limit amputees to receiving “one prosthetic limb per lifetime”.
This restriction is ridiculous and and it is UNFAIR to amputees, who need properly fitting prosthetic limbs in order to walk and maintain lives with dignity.
Would you please consider signing our online petition to convince New York State to change these unfair limitations on prosthetic coverage? The petition is at www.onelimbforlife.com and takes only a couple of moments to fill out.

"One Limb for Life"
“One Prosthetic Limb Per Lifetime” restrictions in New York State prevent amputees from receiving the devices they need to continue living productively.
New York State’s benchmark health insurance plan under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) limits coverage for prosthetic limbs to “one prosthesis per limb per lifetime.” This “One Limb for Life” rule is not “equal to the typical employer plan” in New York State, which is the standard for coverage under the ACA, making it one of the most restrictive coverage policies in the country.
