I've raised the alert level of the Blues Harmonica Gig List @ MBH page from beta to normal. It can now be found in the index on the right side of this page. It's the next-to-last-page on the site, just above the Contact page.
It's there--but barely. It hasn't begun to take off yet. But it's there. And I encourage the folks here who gig regularly or semi-regularly or occasionally to join in.
In order to join in, you'll need a Google Calendar account. And you'll need to email me (asgussow@aol.com) so that I can add you to the list of Google calendar folks who have read/write privileges for this particular calendar.
It's a slightly awkward way of doing business, but it CAN work.
Please spread the word. Thanks.

Adam,
If I download Google calendar am I to be bombarded with Google crap trying to change my homepage and the like? Until I know differently I will pass, albeit a noble gesture and something I would take advantage of I
don't care for invasive computer programs or the hassle that comes with them.

I'm happy to say that Gerry Hundt has signed on and because he's got so many gigs, he is now The Dominator.

I have added a few dates, but am nowhere near as busy as the dominator. BTW, the gig guide is on the LEFT hand side of the page. That is the OCD side of me speaking. (Or maybe it just appears that way to me because we see things differently Down Under!) :)

I solved the time-zone problem! All calendar entries should specify Central Time Zone (GMT + 6). That makes all entries (in the all-important left hand column) come out right.
BronzeWailer, please try this. It fixes everything.

Meaux Jeaux, I've never had that experience with Google. I do use Google as my home page, the regular one, not the social one, but the only time I've ever seen Google push their homepage was when I contacted them directly. I know a couple of the other sites push that way though. Google calendar just sits on the web, like a Gmail account. It doesn't, or at least I haven't, seen it doing any of the crazy stuff some other programs do- no shortcuts on my toolbar or anything like that.

[I left the whole thread of my thought process below in case anyone else is having similar problems.]
"@kudzurunner: I am not very familiar with Google Calendars. I got the following in the setting section:
"Calendar Time Zone:
Please first select a country to select the right set of time zones. To see all time zones, tick the box instead."
When I went to this section, Central Time Zone was already selected. I clicked on it anyway, and nothing happened to the Gigs guide on MBH page. I also changed it to Australian Eastern Daylight Time and nothing happened that was apparent to my eye in the guide. (I changed it back, or tried to).
I guess Google calendar will always "shift" the displayed time depending on the time zone.
What I think I need to do, and what you may have been alluding to, is that I "translate" the gig time here into your time there so it appears as it should in the LHS. I am a bit slow but I think I have got it. Otherwise our gigs will continue to be early in the morning or straddling days. Let me have a crack!!

OK, gig 1 is fixed. !! Success. I didn't realize I had to check the box in the "edit event" section for each particular event. D'oh!
Will do the rest when I get a chance!

Google calendar has been a blessing for me within a small circle. It would be nice to tie gigs to Google Maps.
