Hi everyone. Thanks to our own chromaticblues, I've just had the opportunity to directly compare an OOTB Hohner "Blues Bender PAC" to an OOTB "Progressive" Special 20, both in the key of C. At $17 (vs $35), does the Blues Bender stand up to the Special 20? Is the Blues Bender a good "beginner" harmonica? Does it have any potential at all?!! Watch the video to find out!

PS. Also thanks to chromaticblues, I will soon be making another video with a head-to-head comparison of NOS Special 20 and new "progressive" Special 20 in the same key! I need a couple of days to formulate my opnions, but stay tuned for that vid!

A harp comparison! Wonderful, isaacullah!

I haven't watched it yet but, man, I am stoked! I'm gonna break out the chips and pop the top on a cold one and watch this one from the sofa. When was the last time we had one of these? 2010? Manji vs. Crossover?

Edited to add: I just reread this and, hm, it may come across as a bit snarky. That's not my intention at all. I'm just reveling in the "smells like teen spirit" days of the forum.

Good video Isaac. Certainly I concur that beginners should spend more to get into a SP20. It would be interesting to compare the Bluesbender with the Big River, as they are similar in price. Can the Chinese-made harp match the bottom of the MS series (yet)?

Thanks guys! New years resolution was to try to put more stuff up on youtube that us helpful (at least in a small way) to the harp community. These kind of comparisons are a bit silly, but can be helpful to those who don't have the experience yet, and are contemplating their first or second big harmonica purchase.
