What is the exact reed plate screw size for these harps and where's the best place to purchase?
Thanks!

The reed plate screws for the "old" Special 20's are 2.0mm. For The Rocket and the "new" Progressive Special 20's the reed plate screws are 1.6mm. I bought a bunch of 1.6mm screws from Andrew for a good price not long ago. I also bought some 2.0mm screws from McMaster Carr.

You are looking for 10 mm long screws.

For others who may be jumping into this arena Ron from Rockin Rons has confirmed with Hohner that the Rocket and new Special 20 use the same screws as the MB Deluxe, Crossover, and Golden Melody. So...one of the rare cases where one size fits all! Here's a link to his site:

All the best on your harmonica journey!

9000 - MS series harps use M1.6 as well. So do Seydel diatonics. Suzuki diatonics use M2 screws like the old Special 20s. It's harder to strip an M2 thread because they are sturdier than M1.6. I use M2 screws when I convert a Marine Band 1896 from nails to screws.

If you strip the thread on a harmonica with an M1.6 screw, you can either use a nut or enlarge the hole and tap it with an M2 screw.

Almost all of the screws and nuts I offer are 8 cents CAD each (you can order as many or as few as you like.) With the current exchange rate, that makes them 6.75 US cents each.

M1.6 nuts are a little more expensive. I only offer them in packs of 10.

You can order here (scroll down to the bottom of the page):
