i read and read on the subject the other night and got confussed as it seems android has certain limitations that need to be addressed
i have ordered a usb otg host cable, micro male with a standard female, but ive heard sometimrs they need powered by using a different cable, but im hoping the 8 track set to export will do that?

I would elaborate but the range of the spectrum is huge. Todays recordings have been overun with home set up stuff that sounds painful to my ears. Quality recordings will cost you in gear and time learning to use it right. You can go with what you have now all the way up to million dollar set ups. Sound is a personal thing and what one considers good quality another might think not. The computer is your best bang for the buck IMO and with all the plug ins available today one can get a good sounding recording with a good mic/preamp/computer set up. Hobostubs: You might be out of luck with your USB-Host OTG cable, since you'd probably need an app from Roland, and it doesn't seem that they make any Android apps. HOWEVER, IF you can get your br6000 to send audio over USB, and IF your tablet actually supports OTG, then you MIGHT be able to record the audio with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.sobe.usbaudiorecord&hl=en
I can't comment from experience, however, as neither my android phone, nor my android tablet support OTG.
I was, however, able to get an external mic input into the headphone jack using this adapter: http://www.amazon.com/Extrasensory-Devices-ESDHW011-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B006T65CXE/ref=sr_1_14?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1420572755&sr=1-14&keywords=trrs+splitter
But it's only mono, and the quality wasn't that good on my Nexus 4. ----------   YouTube! Soundcloud!

Thanks Walter,im learning new things and improving the sound of my digital 8 track all the time,im happy with it,my friend that i bought it from a few years back, upgraded to the same model boss 16 track, then went with a computer and Pro tools software, fancy phatom powered, mics, and is wishing he hadnt sold me the boss 8 track,:-)
Thanks isaacullah Ive read where the headphone jack is a in and out line,on some models, but cant seem to get a mic to work, the only mic i have with a hi impedace input is my green bullet with a adapter, ive looked but havent found if my tablet handles otg
My 8 track has a usb and export inport modes and has been my way of uploading last 4 years but with a computer, which i dont have,i have taken the 8 track with finished recording uploaded on the librRies here lasst year but would rather use something at the house.
all, recording and mixing is done on the 8track,i only need to usb tranfer to something, convert to mp3 and upload,my 8track deals with Wav and Aiff files, and reverbnation requires mp3,with a computer this is a easy job the androids are a bi$#h:-) they do have Daw apps for android so it must be possible, but Iphones seem to be the better way to go,
muscians friend has a few mobil interfaces just for recording but there setup for I phones, although ive heard that with the right app,you can use android, but i do not know.
im really hoping this tablet supports otb usb hosting
its a asus memo 7 with 4.3 i read it would so i found a usb otg micro to standard cord, online after driving 40 miles to bestbuy,a super walmart and no luck, told i could only find them online, get online and there was way to many different types of usb host cables all shapes and sizes, after about 6 hours of reading i took and ordered one,im still not sure if its the right one and if it will work,
thanks all help appreciated
