A lot of people say that Lee Oskar's last a very long time , maybe much more than other brands .OK , some are bad ootb and some fail rapidly , but it seems that LO's , in general, last really a very long time . Do you know why ? reed material ?

I don't know why but they seem to be more robust & from personal experience they do outlast other brands. Also they, unlike other brands, offer just one model. Sure it's possible to get different tunings but it is still the same basic harp so perhaps they have invested all their energies into getting it right. ---------- HARPOLDIEāS YOUTUBE

I've heard if you play a Lee Oskar backwards way round pixie dust comes out of them and they magically regrow mustache hair. :)

Ive had good Luck with the ones i have, not had one go out,(knock on wood),but the equal temp.to me at least not as fun,i started liking the hohner big rivers and use them most the time,When i play harp, they have a better tone to me with there just temperment tuning, and they seem to last just as long, and not to exspensive. ---------- Hobostubs

I haven't tried the Big River .I have a few MS Blues Harp's . They are not as responsive as a SP20 , good harps , though .I find the LO's to be a little less responsive and airtight than the SP20 , too .

Mine last a long time because I don't like to play them much. I bought several about 10 years ago when I started playing. I found them hard to play at that time. My skill level now allows me to get more from them.
However I still have all my originals and they have seen lots of abuse, from camping trips to sitting in cars in Canadian cold and just neglect. ---------- MBH member since 2009-03-24
