Before anyone else chimes in. Can someone remove this jackass from the forum? I rarely ever complain on here but this dickhead needs to go. Take your whining somewhere else.

Poitouharpin - I think in all honesty you need to drop this subject on this forum. Adam made it clear that he gave both you and Slim unprecedented room to present your sides of the story on here. Which you have done. I suspect though that you won't listen and will drive the moderators to ban you. Which would be a shame, because if you engaged in other threads on this forum and started talking about other facets of the instrument and it's music, instead of focusing on this one negative. You might find that you learn a lot and can maybe also give a lot.
Just my thoughts on the matter.

BigBlindRay, please leave the animosity to the professionals. We are trained in sarcasm. You might strain something and we can't be held responsible. Besides, it's a violation of the forum creed.
Kingly, well put. Poitouharpin, if you want it to be your last post we can arrange that, but like Kingly said, this forum is about a lot more than complaining. You are welcome to stick around if you can let this issue drop and this forum focus on more interesting things, but if you want to focus on he said/he said instead you won't leave us any choice but to bounce you.

Not sure the whole story behind this... But I was recently contacted by a fellow who is waiting 7 months for a Slim's Custom Case. He contacted me because my testimonial was on Slim's site. I personally had a great experience with Slim, buying a case near the beginning of his enterprise. However, this guy sounded rightfully upset at his lack of interaction when trying to find out what was going on. 7 months sounds like an awfully long time for this. I think mine came in a few weeks and I'm in Canada. Is it not okay to post about this sort of thing? Wouldn't others want to know if a harp related business was not living up to expectations/agreements? As I said, I'm unaware of earlier history regarding this case...

personally i see nothing wrong with the OP. those who know the story understand what it means. its just contact information. enough people provided testimony about similar problems to consider the OP in a light of goodwill, an act of service to the broader harp-playing community. the fact that its the only topic poitouharpin has made any posts about shouldn't be grounds to brand him as a troll. its clearly an issue with potential to catch people out. he has presented it as a post in service, and i see no reason to interpret it otherwise.

I for one appreciate the info poitouharpin has posted. I'm now 4 months into a wait for my custom case having paid in full up front. I've had absolutely no contact from Slim unless I myself have chased him. Others should be made aware, especially as they might purchase on the strength of recommendations made by members of this forum as I did.

A number of people have expressed the same opinion in the last year regarding late deliveries over at Harpl. 7 months is a riduculous time to wait for a case, particularly of you are quoted a shorter period of time. Joe Spiers told me 6 months and the harps arrived 6 months to the day. That's ok. Based on a number of very positive reviews on youtube (including Big Blind Ray's video that clocked in at 25 minutes!) I want to get one too. But I am hesitant based on the number of more recent issues with delivery. It is my understanding that Slim moved residence so he is setting up a new shop, so I will let some time go by and let him settle in.
With that said, I have had excellent results with the following vendors that have been mentioned on this site: Sonny Jr., Rocking Ron's, Mike Fugazzi, Joe Spiers, Richard Sleigh, Greg Huemann, and DJL Audio/Megatone. I have had excellent correspondence with MP , Jim Gordon, Rick at memphis Mini, Bruce at Mission amps and Azarac (sp?) the harp guy from Canada. I recommend these vendors highly. I have also had excellent dealings with the 3 folks I sold amps to on this site.
This is a small community, sometimes it is easier to mention the bad, but it is also eqally important to point out the positives and give credit where credit is due. I sincerely Slim gets his issues sorted out and can continue to produce his high quality product.

Since my previous post on this topic is mentioned in this thread I feel it is only fair that I comment. I am the person mentioned who, at the time had been waiting 7 months for my case. I still have no case. I was sent a photo of a set of bare wood boxes after my post, saying that this was my case in progress. Last month I was told by Slim's Custom Cases that he just delivered a case ordered 12 months ago, and the customer was very happy. I'll bet he was as he had probably given up by then. I take his statement to mean that, if he is truly delivering, it is a one-year wait.
