I've got an mp4 file that I would like you all to hear.
How does one go about getting it to be added to a posting here?

I set up a free account at
www.dropbox.com
Once I upload to there I right click on the file in dropbox and get the public URL which I cut and past into my post using
(greater than)a href="public URL"(less than)name to display in post(greater than)/a(less than)
(greater than) = <
(less than)= >
If I use the symbols the system tryes to embed my description.

i have dropbox... works great on a smart phone
i think soundcloud is easier for this site.

I'd go with Soundcloud unless you already have a Dropbox account. They made some changes a while back and I'm not sure they still support file sharing for new members (at least that's the gist of what the letter they sent was). Old members still have that ability. Soundcloud should walk you through the process. If you need more assistance, just let us know.
edit- actually, if it's mp4, does it have video with it? If it does, YouTube is probably easier.
