Hello folks, I been thinking for a while after watching all the Steve Baker videos about the hohner workshop toolkit to replace reeds and stuff like that.
Looks pretty cool, but is hella expensive, any one has them/ used them?
If so do you recommend them? are they worth the money?
Share your stories/review or recommend other options to do the work it does
Thanks

This has some good info. You can do a forum search and find even more. I, like a lot of others, just use things that get the job done for me. However, I am not deep into it. Mostly gap and some tuning. Hope this helps. http://www.modernbluesharmonica.com/board/board_topic/5560960/5467062.htm

I personally prefer the basic Seydel toolset, even though it is not cheap either:

If you make sure you have tools to remove and replace reeds you are on your way. The full Seydel kit and full Hohner kits are good choices.
You need reed wrenches. Hohners reed wrench is flimsy. I copied it and have several made of stainless steel shims.
You get what you pay for. In the long run you will never buy a new harp ever again. I haven't bought a harp in a decade.
I'm going to say it again. If a reed is a 1/2 step flat it is dead. The average ear doesn't notice an out of tune reed till it is beyond repair. ---------- Affordable Reed Replacement Marks Harmonica Tune-up

Just looked at basic Seydel kit. It has most of what you will need. It doesn't have a reed wrench or a slotted screwdriver. you will need these.
I have at least four tool kits. Hohner, Seydel, Sleigh,Lee Oskar, etc. and a slew of kits I've made myself.
Sleighs kit is made for souping up your harp. Good file! I don't like the other tools included. Everything works as advertised but I prefer my home made stuff or Seydel or Hohner.
