Just got home after a week working in Newcastle,NSW, and found a package from Azajac...6 dark combs and a supply of nuts and bolts... These look good; guess I have a couple of projects this weekend. My old Marine Band deluxe will get a new comb, and my homemade custom special 20 (2nd 'serious' attempt at building an overblow harp). Thanks Andrew, as always, great service and product. As the Brits sometimes say 'more power to your elbow!'

His combs are really great. I'm thinking of making Andrew my go to guy for repairs on my GMs. Hohner refuses to sell plates in the USA so I know sending Harps to him for repair they would come back in much better shape than I sent them.

I played a friends custom harp from Henry Slim, that had one of Andrews combs on it. I was pretty impressed with it. I must get round to ordering some to try on a couple of my Marine Band Deluxe harmonicas.

Thanks guys!
SuperBee - Enjoy your weekend project! I still get a thrill when I get sent a crappy harmonica with loads of potential. I really enjoy cracking them open and teasing out their inner mojo.
It's satisfying to take a weak, wimpy harp and make it growl! I never get tired of it. That keeps me going!

2 good outcomes. Sanding draw plates was straightforward, only catch was I had to change the way I'd replaced a reed in the sp20. I usually replace sp20 reeds with a 'post and nut', which leaves the bolt head on the comb side. Rather than cut a relief I removed the reed and reattached it with a screw from the top. I've wanted a new comb on that deluxe for a long time. It's an old favourite. Next job is to convert a nailed marine band. Thanks for the videos too, Andrew. Good editing for pace. Good work from your camera operator...reminds me of my time as a travelling TV repairman's assistant, (age 5 - 12).
