I don't think this topic's come up yet. I had a situation today at work where I had to watch a series of training videos on my computer. Well...the computer only has a small speaker mounted in the tower, and with all system volumes turned up, I still couldn't hear it over the ambient noise in my office. So I got creative...worked like a charm!

Anyone else done something similar in a pinch?

I use that method to play arrangements in Finale on my computer loud enough so the band can hear what is is supposed to sound like.

I also did this withe my Danelectric battery amp I happened to have in my briefcase to make a presentation audible.

In the great state of Pennsylvania, you are on hold for up to an hour when dealing with unemployment comp. I mic the phone with an amp till a real person gets on the line. (;>)

I once saw a painter standing on a set of Altec A7's on a school job. He was using them as scaffold! Those speakers are in my basement now. The contractor had already tossed the two Altec tube PA amps. I searched four dumpsters for two hrs. looking for those amps. Buttheads!!

I use it as a stand for my beer. Comes in handy when I'm on stage, playing.

This is why I've always preferred large amps.

Cheers
