Ridiculous musicianship, and innovative use/placement of the harmonica(s)
Couldn't be more impressed (although it helps that Braveheart is a longtime favorite of mine)

I take away points because he didn't tongue block on the penny whistle. :)

Yeah I struggle just playing guitar and singing at the same time (can barely do it -- it's a block for me). So yeah, frustrating and impressive all at the same time.
Philosofy: I know, right. How does he ever expect to get that dirty chicago sound if he doesn't tongue block on that whistle?

You know, although I think his execution might crimp his neck a bit, attaching the harps to the guitar isn't a bad idea. I hate traditional neck racks. I don't play guitar, but if I did, I'd be looking for any sort of alternative. I've seen harps attached to mic stands, but never to the guitar.
Very nice music too.

I hate neck racks, too, but I don't know if attaching the harps to the guitar is an ideal solution. It's certainly more versatile than the rack, but i'd imagine that tone would suffer in the context of blues or jazz. Maybe attacking a slightly raised platform to the guitar and THEN attaching the harps to that might be the solution. Who knows -- it'll never be relevant to me because I can only do one at a time, anyways. Multi-tracking is my savior.
Goldbrick: no toys, but at least his parents allowed him to watch Mel Gibson films, so his childhood must not have been ENTIRELY joyless. Mostly because of Braveheart.

While Stricagnoli can probably do live what's on the video, the sound is clearly recorded in a studio, not outdoors. There's a good chance that he recorded the instruments separately. =========== Winslow Plunge into the SPAH Experience, August 5-9, 2014

Winslow: while this video certainly isn't live, i'm fairly confident that Stricagnoli did all of this in 1 take -- Candyrat studios tend to operate in that way, because they're all about 'virtuosity.' I could be wrong, but I did once speak to a guitarist who used to record with them, and he said that their recording facilities are fairly limited. I'm pretty sure they just put you in a room, mic you up, and have you perform.
Diggs: that's a certainly a bar. A different bar, i think (Stricagnoli is in a different class as a guitarist, and we all know about Volkamer's abilities on the harmonica), but an impressive one all the same.

Found a patent for a gizmo to attach the harp to a guitar dated 1889. So the idea's been around for a while. There's at least one model currently available, the Greisen Harmonica Holder.
