Has anyone had similar problems? It's been going on for months and it's really starting to bug me. When I use wi-fi elsewhere with my own laptop, there's no problem. And the restriction seems to be limited to this page only.

The strangest thing is that I can't access MBH with my phone either. This has been going on so long I know it's not incidental.

Does your cell phone hook up to MBH when you are away from home?

I have had a similar problem for the last few weeks. It started right after I had a lot of posts rejected as spam. I wonder if the system has tagged my home network as a source of spam. If I use VPN to tunnel into my work network,I can access MBH at home. If I go to a place with public wi-fi, I don;t have to do this, even though I am using the same computer.

Have you tried another browser? Also, you may have to explicitly allow MBH at your firewall. It might be on your PC or at your router. That's where I would start.

Aside from firewall issues or browser issues, your home IP may have been blocked by the server host. It happens sometimes. Virtually all IPs out of Russia and China are blocked because of spam issues, and other places have been hit as well. Sweden, Switzerland, and even somehow our illustrious leader in the deep south.

So, what to do... well, it depends on where the block is. If you have a static IP, it may be that your specific IP is blocked. If you have a dynamic IP it's possible that a whole range are blocked. Adam switched from a static to a dynamic and that fixed the problem. Boris switched from a dynamic to a static- in his case the static address kept him from getting unfairly lumped in with spammers. That's one possible solution.

If you have a static IP you can also do this:

Normally, we also ask the user who can't access the site to do some traceroutes to our IP and address to see if we can identify at which point their attempts to reach your site get a dead end.

Basically, we ask them to do the following and forward us the results and we'll ask the server hosts to whitelist you.

1. Go to Start enter "cmd" (without the quotes) in the search field.
2. Click on the command prompt icon (should be the first in the search result, if it's not the only one).
3. Type in the following in the command prompt:

c:\tracert 69.90.45.8

Hit 'Enter' and it should do a trace. Please provide us with these trace results.

4. Next, type in the following:

c:\tracert websitedynamics.com

Again, after hitting 'Enter' it should do a trace. Please tell us the results as well.

I have had same kind of problems. I'm also from Finland. When trying to go to MBH with Ipad, no luck but with PC it works. Both devices are in same Wi-fi network.

Yes, I've had the same problems. It all started a few weeks ago when I was trying to create a post on the For Sale thread. For some reason when I hit "Post Message" it didn't work so I tried doing it again and again. I think that the "powers that be" classified me as a Spammer and I got blocked. Buy "powers that be" I don't mean our wonderful Moderators. I mean the firewall or whatever technology is used to protect this site from the true spammers.

I was able to get on BMH via my phone as long as I was going through the AT&T 4G Wireless Network but as soon as I tried going through the wireless network at home I was blocked.

Anyway, I was able to get back on BMH after I re-booted my modem. I have Dynamic IP at the house so I think re-booting the modem changed the IP address to one the BMH server did not recognize. I'm not a tech genius by any stretch but my theory seems to be reinforced by the fact that I have a Static IP address at my office and I still cannot get on BMH from there.

So my advice is to re-boot your modem if you have a Dynamic IP address.

Thanks for the replies. I'm afraid I'm so illiterate with computers I don't have any idea what static and dynamic IP's mean and how to switch them. Nor do I know how to boot a mobile modem. But I shall educate myself and see what I can find out.

@JustFuya: No, my cell phone doesn't go to MBH anywhere.

@Nate: Is the whitelisting procedure different on a Mac? I can't find a cmd file from my computer.

J-Sin, your service provider could tell you if you have a static or a dynamic IP. Basically, there is a limited number of addresses on the web because when they decided how long addresses would be no one imagined how huge the web would be. The result is that when companies buy IP addresses to provide to their customers they have two options. They can give each customer their own IP address, which uses up their addresses pretty quickly, or they can just make the customer draw from a large pool of addresses. Essentially, a bunch of people share a smaller pool of addresses because only a few people need one at any given moment. Most places charge more for a static IP, although that's not always the case.

As for the Mac/PC issue, I'm deferring to timeistight's advice. The last Apple I used for more than sending an email was an Apple IIe. :)
