There are times when I´ve forgotten to bookmark posts containing some piece of information that I´d like to return to. I then use the Forum search. Or I ... turn to the Forum search, but "the computer says nooo". I never find anything that way.
Like just now I realised I´ve forgotten what gadget it was that Boris P(lotnikov?) used in a fairly recent video clip and that interested me. Search "Boris 2014" -- no way. Introducing various options but Boris has written quite a few posts, and is also referenced in quite a few others.
Any tips here?

well, I google something like: "modern blues harmonica" and after that I type one or two words that could be found in the name of that thread. It works for me... I also do that when I want to learn more about something related with harmonica. This forum is old one, so you dont need to ask a question cause your answer is probably here somewhere :)

There is another way to do it, but I don't remember the way to enter the search, but this works. In Google, if you type your search in and then @modernbluesharmonica.com, it will search the site for the terms you used. Of course, on a site that specializes in a narrow topic like harmonica, some of the best search terms (like harmonica or Boris!) get lots of hits. I think you can use some date filters too. In extreme cases, you can scroll back through the archives, I've even looked at post numbers as filters. If you remember it was after that time Boris did that thing and before that time Boris did that other thing you can type in 'Boris (I don't want to misspell his last name) 1000 posts' or whatever post number you are looking for. (That's how people search to find their first post.)
There are, of course, several human options. There are several people on here who have really really crazy good brains for sorting things. I've seen someone ask something like, 'You know, I was trying to find that video of that guy in the bar with the beer logo in the background from about a month ago' and 5 minutes later someone will post the correct video for them.
With a specific question where you know who the person is, like one of Boris's gadgets, that's likely to get a response. (Was it his looping pedal? Shoot, now, you've got me thinking I might know the video. He was showing off a few devices...) For Boris, you could also search his YouTube channel, or click on his link in any of his posts. I suspect he's got his contact info there (or his website, or his YouTube channel).
Remember, if you are searching, as long as you don't use quotation marks, it will look for words in any order, so if you remember two or three people who posted, and one or two words, you can narrow your search quite a bit.

Thanks guys, but it ain´t working. Well of course, it could be working the old fashioned way, as Nate suggests: simply ask.
Thing is I already asked Boris, then forgot to save the reply. My problem, and I´ll work it out in the end.
@Lmbrjak: Yeah. But none of them are correct.

My apologies -- this was rude to Nate. Your suggested way worked like a charm; I was being sloppy.
So the thing is to skip "forum search" and go directly to Silicon Valley, so to say.
Many thanks.

Re the google site search, try opening google then search like this, i.e. with your search term first...
boris site:http://www.modernbluesharmonica.com/board/
as Nate says, there are also lots of search term options to narrow it down. Any good? ---------- mtg

Thanks Mind. It was probably naive, but I figured the more limited forum search would be the better option.
