Anyone have experience with settings on this head? I've just bought one and I love it, but I'm having to experiment to find the dirtiest sound with the highest volume playing through 2x 12" speakers. Any help much appreciated.

a 2x10?
Maybe replace one 12" whit a 10" for a 10x12 cab?
A lower gain preamp tube would help.

Good point. Bigger speaker won't get as dirty at lower volumes. Mojotone sells baffle adapters for like $25 or $30. Get a 12"-10" adapter, and maybe put one of the harp-friendly Eminence 10's in it. Lil Buddy...Ragin Cajun...Copperhead...Legend 1028K... ----------

Damn! All you guys seem to be obsessed with speaker swaps these days. Leatherlips save your money! Just try a 12AY7 in V1 first, keep the tone low and crank the volume on the amp as high as you can until it's just at the point of feedback. Make sure you're mic volume if you have one is also on full. Then just turn the amp back down a very slight touch to stop the feedback occurring. If it's still causing feedback too early try dropping V1 to a 12AU7 and see how you get on with that first, before you go laying out stupid amounts of hard earned cash on speakers.

As the post asked, I was after settings not alterations. I have already got some pretty nice tones from it in stock form, but I'm after some solid settings I can go straight to and not have to change them at a gig. I might look at changes much later, and because I got the 2x 12" for $200.00, it's a good place to start. I did change the speaker in my Special 6 to a Lil Buddy and I know they are good, so I might do a 2x 10" cab later on. Thanks Kingley for your suggestions. I will try those out.
