Yes, had it bad, now in recovery, although I currently own 7 guitars,5 lap steels 6 tube amps, numerous effects, mikes, and miscellaneous stuff, I have recently thinned the herd somewhat. I still cruise craigslist and guitar center. always room for another harp or Telecaster, right?

I HAVE had. In recent times I have done a lot to simplify. One amp, a decent working set of harps, a few mics in the usual categories. One LWHD pedal.
The duo with Jolene does not require a ton of stuff. She has 3 guitars and 2 small amps. We have a small p.a. with the stands and mics and cables. It's really just what we need to play a gig.
There was a time I wanted everydamthing but in a few years we're going to move into a much smaller space, so I want to keep stuff to a minimum.
It is not about how much stuff you have but more about what you can do with a minimum of stuff. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene

Actually yes, but after I get my main income from music I almost cure it. Still want a lot, but always thinking "will it help me to really sounds better?" and often answer is "not really". ---------- Excuse my bad English.

In remission I think. Lost interest in mics...kind of. Happy with those I have. Happy with my big amp, kinda too many 5 watt amps and realising how little use they are generally, but I like them for helping me learn about electronics, 2 guitars but still just a strummer. Probably not over buying more harps. Might depend how far I take this country-tuned thing...if that takes hold...but maybe I'll retune my spares... Oh...I've been kidding myself, I realise I've just changed what I acquire...I've been buying tools to work on harps and amps

I get the bug for more gear from time to time. For the moment though I pretty much have all bases covered with two bullet mics and two stick mics, a small amp, a delay pedal, a Lone Wolf Harp Attack, a Harp Break, two chromatics and about a dozen diatonics. Collecting gear is nice, but I think it's far more important to spend more time learning how to play stuff than acquiring it. Because all the gear in the world ain't gonna make me a better player. Only hard work and intelligent learning will do that.

Speaking of...Boris, are you still using the same mic? Isn't it a Beyer...or Electrovoice?
I can't afford a Sennheiser 441, but am looking for a new mic for cupping while playing 100% acoustic. I have a SM58 now, and love it with my full rig, but it isn't anythign special straight to PA (I know lots of players use them successfully, but one does not simply have enough mics!). ---------- Mike My Website My Harmonica Effects Blog Rock Harmonica Lessons

I had GAS bad for 10 years. Finally got rid of it by boiling down to a 90 Bassman RI, Gibson GA-30, a CM, a Ceramic and a R7. Kinder AFB + Squeel Killer and a LW Delay. Once in a while I feel that GAS coming back on but now limit myself to harp GAS.

@HawkeyeKane it's a Warmoth, of my own design. I must admit, they make MUCH better guitars than Fender...

I am possessed. 20+ gig ready tube amps. Can't help buying clunkers and repairing/restoring. I would defiantly make money by flipin them but I seem to keep them instead. Got a bunch of mics but only use a few. Not into pedals but have a few. If I played harp as much as I play with amps, would be a much better player...BN

I do believe it's a hard-wired part of the human condition, part of the drive to progress through technology, and so something to be celebrated and enjoyed to the full. Buy more mics, I say.
My kids got into flint knapping a while ago - part of the archery thing, making arrow heads etc. Apparently archeologists find huge numbers of flint products, far more than were ever needed to hunt and use as tools. Many of them never used, but clearly made to perfection. The conclusion is that people just loved making those things over and over, just to get them perfect. Then label them and put them in foam-lined aluminium flight cases.

Traded a vintage amp and acquired 3 more this week. Yikes! You can start calling me Dano-man. I now have 5 Danelectro amps (along with a few others) in my music storage. They are pretty cool.

I'm down to two mic rigs. As far as amps go, luckily I can't afford what I want:

SM57 + Radial Reamp + Lone Wolf Compression + LW V2 Delay
and
Modded Shaker Retro Rocket + Fender Competition Delay

Yeah I had a problem gathering mics and gear, then I realized my harmonica playing was bad and I needed to focus on learning to play the thing.I got way to distracted way too soon.Lately I've had the notion to buy a banjo. But I need to focus on playing harmonica.
